Established in 1879, Mulgrave Primary School brings a proud history and tradition and blends it with 21st century teaching and learning best practice. Our school boasts a strong sense of community. Teachers, parents and students work together to ensure that we offer the best teaching and learning opportunities for all of our students. Our quality programs seek to identify the individual learning needs of every child and teach accordingly so that all students are provided with the opportunity to reach their individual potential. We offer a broad range of timetabled Specialist programs including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Spanish. The school is very well resourced with ample computer technology and curriculum resources to meet the needs of all of our students through a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Our school offers a warm learning environment where every student is catered for. Our aim is to engage every child at their point of need and to work with parents to deliver excellent academic outcomes each and every year. Success Primary School is committed to our mission to nurture and educate each student and guide them to become a successful, responsible and caring contributor in our changing world. Success Primary School provides a balanced mathematics curriculum that maximises the opportunity for all students to achieve the Achievement Standards described in Australian Curriculum. We are committed to a whole school systematic approach to Numeracy, whilst encompassing all learning areas, taking into account Success Primary School's unique context, our established core values, our outlined beliefs about teaching learning and links with our parents and community. A whole school approach is considered essential to successful school and classroom mathematics curriculum planning. Strategies to address improvement targets are developed collaboratively by school staff and are detailed in the school's Operation Plan. As Success Primary School values a collaborative approach, resources and time is allocated to assist professional development, collaborative planning, moderation, reflection and review. Success Primary School and teachers engage in whole-school mathematics curriculum planning to ensure there is an appropriate curriculum emphasis for each phase of schooling. Teachers regularly monitor, evaluate, engage in moderation and report on each student's achievement. The Mathematics Curriculum Committee, which is made up of representatives from each learning team, aim to ensure consistent approach across the school, ensure strategies for Mathematics are embedded in planning and ensure student proficiency in mathematical skill develops throughout the curriculum and becomes increasingly sophisticated over the years of schooling.
