Trajectory was the recent recipient of the Book Industry Study Group’s 2015 (BISG) Innovation Award. Trajectory Inc. is an American technology company that focuses on solving the problems facing the global book publishing market. It was founded by Jim Bryant and Scott Beatty in 2012 and is headquartered in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The company is known for pioneering the development of a series of deep learning algorithms that are used to analyze and recommend books. Trajectory is an intelligent network connecting publishers to retailers, libraries, schools, and new distribution channels around the world.We work closely with publishers to help them identify new ways to increase their revenue and overall brand exposure. Natural Language Processing Technology Trajectory has created a series of Deep Learning algorithms that we are applying to the text contained within the books that we are processing. The goals are to create and model high-level abstractions that can be used to: 1. Increase the discoverability of a book through retail and library channels. 2. Lead to new human interpretations. 3. Form the basis for machine learning by comparing the unique characteristics one book against all of the books that are processed.
