Trailfunds Information

Trailfunds is a nonprofit technology platform helping stewardship organizations plan, coordinate, document, and demonstrate the impact of their work. Across the United States, there is an estimated $24 billion backlog in trail maintenance and recreation infrastructure. At the same time, public land agencies increasingly rely on nonprofit partners, conservation corps, volunteer organizations, and local trail groups to help care for these landscapes. The work is happening. Too often, it simply isn't visible. Trailfunds provides a shared platform where stewardship organizations can manage projects, coordinate volunteers, collect field data, document accomplishments, and communicate measurable impact to land managers, funders, donors, and the public. Our reporting tools help demonstrate where work occurred, what was accomplished, and how communities are investing in their public lands. Trailfunds is a neutral platform built to strengthen collaboration between stewardship organizations, public land managers, volunteers, funders, and outdoor communities. Because every great trail has a story—and every mile exists because someone showed up to build and care for it.
