Traffickfree was conceived after Ms. Flores attended a conference on human trafficking and realized that she had finally found her 'word' for what happened to her so many years earlier. She never knew what it was called and the moment she learned it,she never looked back. She set a course of spreading her personally horrific story to anyone that wanted to hear it. She heard over and over again, "I didn't know" after her presentations. She this motivated her even more to keep going. She was a vital part of the passage of the human trafficking legislation into law and once she found her voice, she vowed to speak for all of the other survivors who haven't found their's yet and never to be silenced again. She published her book and started Traffickfree, a program that educates middle and high school students, college students, church members, law enforcement, social service professionals and many others. She has partnered with DOMA International (www.domaconnection.org) to go national with the S.O.A.P. project. It has been a long road of recovery and healing. One that she realizes is not a Destination she will reach, but a Journey. One that she is honored to be apart of each and every day because it is a miracle that she is alive and able to do this.
