Our unique variety of wheat beer specialties continue to be brewed at Bavaria’s oldest wheat beer brewery in Kehlheim, Bavaria and strictly follow the guidelines set forth by the German purity beer law- the Reinheitsgebot of 1516, which only allows for the usage of 4 ingredients when making beer. Nonetheless, Schneider Weisse has managed to create some of the most innovative beers to come out of Germany in the past 10 years while working within this restriction, and is considered by many to be the father of the entire German Craft Beer scene and/or movement. The brewery is private and is also still family-owned with Georg Schneider VI currently at the helm leading these innovations while maintaining the traditional elements such as open-fermentation and real bottle conditioning.
