The Torrington Volunteer Fire Department protects the residents of the City of Torrington, Wyoming, and the residents of Goshen County Rural Fire Protection District #3. Formed in 1920, this all-volunteer force provides firefighting, water rescue, vehicle extrication and other emergency services. The Department operates four structure engines, six wildand engines and four support vehicles from Fire Station #1. Our primary response area is about 200 square miles of rolling grasslands. We provide mutual aid support to other communities in Goshen County, as well as Niobrara, Platte and Laramie Counties in Wyoming; Scottsbluff and Souix Counties in Nebraska.
