Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is the third largest public school district in the state of Texas with more than 115,000 students enrolled. CFISD has 12 high schools, 20 middle schools, 59 elementary schools and 5 special campuses. During the 2019-2020 school year, the district employed 7,697 teachers, 2,610 paraeducators, 3,658 special service personnel, and 1,701 professional/administrative/support personnel for a total of 15,666 employees. Lone Star College System enrolls over 90,000 students each semester providing high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training education. LSCS is training tomorrow’s workforce today and redefining the community college experience to support student success. Mario K. Castillo, J.D., serves as Chancellor of LSCS, the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area and has been named a 2024 Great Colleges to Work For® institution by the Chronicle of Higher Education. German immigrants formed the school district in 1928. Klein ISD is a Recognized District with the Texas Education Agency. The district has more than 47,900 students, and it employs about 6,100 people. The center of the district is 40 minutes from downtown Houston.
