Tom Wagner, Green Building Associates Certified Green Point Rater New and Existing Homes (#2008-079) with Build It Green; Advanced Green Building Professional Certification with BIG; Registered CA Civil Enginee (# 19266); General Contractor's B license (# 563018);PhD Civil Engineering degree from Stanford University Tom is in various stages of the GreenPoint Rated certification process for 25 local residential projects. Tom's fundamental background in building science principles is augmented by successfully completing over 40 PG&E and BPI classes that provide a broad building systems knowledge and approach to solving clients' building project issues. Tom has worked for recognized industry leaders such as Sustainable Spaces conducting home performance tests. He has prepared California building energy efficiency Title 24 compliance reports for his solar passive house and other projects. In 1982, Tom planned, helped design, permitted, and managed the construction of a 3500 sq. ft. award winning solar passive house in Barron Park and reduced the construction costs by 25%, identifying the most cost-effective solar and energy efficiency features using the CALPAS building energy computer model. His house won the City of Palo Alto 1983 Solar Passive Design Award and it has been on several solar home tours including the June 2008 Barron Park Green Home and Garden Tour which he helped to organize. Photovoltaic (PV), Wind, and Energy Experience Tom has managed over 40 large scale PV projects for BP Solar and has personal experience working with local PV integrators. Tom has associations with several independent home performance testers, HERS raters, mold/lead/asbestos testers, building science trained HVAC contractors, Title 24 preparers, green architects, green builders, PV and solar thermal integrators to assist in providing clients with a full range of experienced green building, energy efficiency and home performance testing services.
