TOM Information

Torres Orbital Mining (TOM) builds autonomous excavation and material-handling systems for extreme environments on Earth and the Moon. We prevent dust at the source rather than capturing it after the fact. The Non-Ejective Intake Bit (NIB, US patent pending) seals the excavation cycle so material never becomes airborne. The TZ-II rover platform removes the need for people to enter the working face at all. One architecture, two problems: respirable silica exposure in terrestrial mining today, and regolith contamination in lunar mining and ISRU tomorrow.
