We created and operate www.AddictionAction.org to help communities mobilize around the HBO documentary series Addiction, bringing the hope of treatment and long-term recovery to individuals and families affected by addiction to alcohol and drugs. We developed www.IndicatorsHandbook.org and its companion book to help communities develop and use indicator reporting programs, a valuable tool to illustrate local substance use problems and track the impact of their efforts. To help individuals stop smoking, Join Together sponsored the development of Quitnet.com, which is now the largest smoking cessation service in the country. Basic QuitNet service is available for free at www.quitnet.com. The Director of Join Together is David L. Rosenbloom, PhD, professor of public health at Boston University, where he also directs the NIH-funded Youth Alcohol Prevention Center.
