Tofaş is a Turkish automotive company whose stock is held equally by FCA-Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Koç Holding. Established by the late founder of the Koç Company, Vehbi Koç, Tofaş is today one of FCA’s two R&D centers in Europe. Tofaş, Turkey’s sixth largest industrial establishment, has a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles per year and has 6,500 employees. It operates on a one million m2 site and is constantly increasing its competitive strength. It is the only automotive company in Turkey producing both passenger vehicles as well as light commercial vehicles. At the Bursa Plant, -which has a privileged position in the highest rank by achieving “Gold” production level within 170 Fiat Group factories of the World Class Manufacturing- it carries out production for the Fiat, Citroen and Peugeot brands within its Minicargo project; and Fiat, Opel, and Vauxhall within its New Doblo project. Tofaş represents six brands (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Jeep, Maserati, and Ferrari) in the domestic market.
