Established in 2012, Tierra Seed Science Private Limited is a next generation agriculture technology company focused on developing innovative seeds stacked with proprietary traits (Non Genetically Modified) that apart from providing significant yield and cost advantage to farmers, has very high impact on environment. Founded by professionals with more than seven decades of combined seed and agribusiness industry experience. Tierra is headquartered in Hyderabad, the seed capital of India, with additional research and breeding facilities in Pune and Vijayawada. Tierra is guided by its vision to address important challenges faced by farmers, food/agri processors and consumers ensuring a "Million Smiles” Tierra is focussed on development of traits and superior products in four focus crops - Cotton, Rice, Tomato and Corn. Tierra uses several advanced technology tools to develop its products. We use marker assisted selection, mutation breeding, TILLING, among other advanced genomics tools to develop new traits and better products. Tierra R&D unit has been recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) under Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. We are a B2B license based company. We develop traits, stack them into seeds, license seeds and traits to independent seed companies who in turn market them to the farmers. We empower small seed companies in Asia and Africa to provide new products and compete in the market. Our focus is on creating Intellectual Property (IP) and Plant Variety Protected (PVP) products.
