In 2014 thyssenkrupp – a diversified industrial group with about 155,000 employees in nearly 80 countries all over the world – established a new worldwide organization called Global Shared Services (GSS) aimed at bundling and standardizing global administrative functions in the areas of Finance & Accounting (FI), Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (IT), and Real Estate Management (RE). The goal of GSS is to provide high-quality, competitive standardized processes and thereby establish efficient administrative functions and support processes throughout the Group worldwide. So far, GSS has opened Shared Service Centers (SSC) in Germany (Essen and Bochum), Poland (Gdańsk), Brazil (Porto Alegre) and India (Thane). The sixth and final center will be ramped up in China at the end of 2016. thyssenkrupp Group Services Gdańsk (tkGSG) Sp. z o.o. is located in a modern office space in the Polish city and will be the biggest of the GSS Service Centers. The center provides the whole range of services – e.g. standardized processes within finance and accounting, HR administration, payroll accounting, travel expenses and real estate management. Up to 700 people will work at this GSS Center. Head of tkGSG is Robert Góra. tk GSG provides high-quality standardized services for our worldwide Group companies in: - Finance & Accounting – teams of accountants concentrate on invoice processing in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Master Data. - HR – specialists working in the department are responsible for processing travel expenses, administration of staffing and payroll as well as handling requests from employees worldwide. - IT – international teams of IT experts provide and ensure standardized IT services in the areas of IT infrastructure, application management, IT security and related vendor contracts. - Real Estate – here a team focuses on administrative support of the real estate management process.
