Established in 1998, in the old Dundrum Shopping Centre, Brambles is an Irish family business which has steadily expanded and today runs 24 daytime cafes, a bistro restaurant in Terenure and a sought-after event catering operation. Operating from a centralised artisan kitchen and bakery operation in Dublin, its team of highly trained chefs and bakers provide both traditional and innovative options to the very highest standards. Daily deliveries ensure this quality is available fresh for its customers. Our retail locations range from public service café concessions in visitor centres, heritage sites and public parks, as well as high street locations. Our event catering business caters for everything from home catering to large functions for public and private sector clients. All of this is run from our artisan kitchen and bakery which ensures an ability to meet all requirements from the small to the large, from traditional to new innovations, and from informal to formal. Changing customer awareness and preferences have presented us with a great opportunity to continue innovating. Our range continues to expand with innovation, different world cuisines and expanded options to meet dietary requirements including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan. In addition, to ensure our growing business is properly supported, we’ve invested in our operations, finance and marketing functions. For Avoca, it all began in our little weaving mill in Avoca Village, Co. Wicklow, back in 1723. Deriving from the old Irish word abhoca meaning ‘little treasure’, we’ve been weaving here since 1723 and are proud to say there are third generation weavers still working here today. Colour and craft are still at the heart of what we do, and we are very proud of our history and heritage. Today, we have 14 locations across the country, boasting unique and interesting retail stores, award-winning cafés, fabulous food markets, breathtaking gardens, nurseries, and lots more. From our bustling city centre stores in Dublin and Belfast, to our locations in stunning gardens in Malahide and Powerscourt, there is so much to explore at Avoca.
