The City of Darebin is the local government for Melbourne's inner northern suburbs of Northcote and Fairfield, out to the traditional middle ring suburbs of Reservoir and Bundoora and includes Alphington (part), Kingsbury, Macleod (part), Preston, Reservoir and Thornbury.
Darebin is home to one of the largest, most diverse communities anywhere in the State in terms of cultures, language (more than 118 languages are spoken), religions, socio-economic background, employment status, occupation, and housing needs. We actively represent our community’s diversity and aim to create an inclusive work environment that values the contribution of all employees and treats all employees with dignity and respect.
We are leaders in Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice, often collaborating with neighbouring municipalities to promote awareness and encourage community participation. We also provide flexible working arrangements and excellent working conditions that are supported across the organisation.
Darebin City Council is one of the largest employers in the municipality with an operating expenditure budget $120 million and capital expenditure budget of $37 million. Darebin has a population of over 144,000 and we are also home to two significant tertiary organisations well serviced by public transport.

Zoos Victoria operates four world-class zoos: Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Kyabram Fauna Park.
We aim to become the world leader in zoo-based conservation and are already playing a leading role in advocacy for wildlife and wild places.
As a not for profit organisation, we rely on funding from the state government as well as financial support from the community to provide the very best animal care.
Zoos Victoria is an organisation full of committed staff members from numerous disciplines, working together to fight extinction to save endangered species.

We are the environmental not-for-profit that thinks bigger than the environment.
We started conserving and restoring Australia’s landscapes in 1982 and we haven’t stopped since. At Greening Australia, we work on major programs that bring life to landscapes and restore balance to the natural environment in significant areas across Australia. Our hundreds of projects demonstrate conservation on a massive scale, covering millions of hectares of land and protecting thousands of native species.
From the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef to the cool island ark of Tasmania, we’re thinking big to tackle the challenges facing Australia’s unique and diverse landscapes in ways that work for communities, economies and nature.
