Our Farm Academy with its bees, chickens and fresh fruit and vegetables, allows students to have an experience unknown to many. Perhaps, most importantly, we encourage all students to explore and broaden their interests and provide a secure, friendly and happy environment in which they can develop as individuals. As Principal, my aim is to ensure that each student's experience is as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

Alderwood Primary School is a Values-based education community dedicated to the care and development of the whole child. We nurture the whole child ensuring the children receive a range of challenging, high quality experiences at our school and we provide an annual programme of educational visits using our local environment and the advantage of being situated in Greenwich and London. We believe in indoor and outdoor learning: our Year 6 children go for a week's residential school journey and we have trained Forest School leaders who support our children in the outdoor learning we can provide here. Our links with our community are very important to us. We maintain a close connection with our adjoining Children's Centre, our local churches and the University of Greenwich. The views of our children and parents are always listened to and we use them to enhance our school environment and learning. Parents at our school show a keen interest in being involved and supporting the school in any way they can. We talk to the children about their learning, friendships and lives. It is crucial that our children see them selves as pivotal members of our school and the world they live in.
