Founded in 1996, Thornton Furniture is owned and operated by Terry and Judy Thornton. At the time, Terry had worked in the furniture business for over 22 years. Judy retired from Western Kentucky University to assist Terry in the establishment of Thornton Furniture. Drawing upon Terry's business experience and Judy's eye for design, the two set out to create a fully-accessorized home furnishings store. Their efforts were strengthened with the addition of key personnel in administration, sales and warehouse/delivery roles - many of those positions were filled by persons that had worked with Terry at previous furniture stores. With a loyal and diverse customer base extending from Nashville to Louisville, Thornton Furniture has expanded to a 38,000 square foot showroom and 7,000 square foot warehouse since opening in October 1996.
