Third Quadrant Design UBC Information

Third Quadrant Design is UBC's first green building design team, committed to spreading knowledge of regenerative principle Founded in September 2019 by three female engineering students, Third Quadrant brings together passionate students from various disciplines to find real solutions to the climate crisis while also, allowing them to build the knowledge base critical to the future of this industry To date, we've twice competed and won the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon® Design Challenge collegiate competition with our 2020 and 2021 submissions. The Solar Decathlon, formerly ‘race to zero’ is a competition that welcomes entries from universities all over the world to design and build highly efficient, healthy, affordable, and renewably powered buildings. Right now, we are working on our first design-build entry to the Solar Decathlon 2023 Build Challenge that will be built, showcased, and remain on UBC's Vancouver campus as an academic building.
