VSNW is a membership organisation that connects to the region’s voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector through infrastructure organisations, equalities networks and large regional and national providers. Through local infrastructure organisations and equalities networks we look to support grassroots community organisations that constitute the vast majority of the 30,000 plus groups working in the North West. Core to our work are our partners and members. We have a membership of over 120 full members and 50 associates who support and engage with VSNW and our mission. We facilitate key partnerships working in the subregions wherever and whenever we can. This includes VS6 operating across Liverpool City Region, the emerging Cheshire and Merseyside VCFSE health and wellbeing Leadership group, and the Greater Manchester VCSE Leadership Group.

Welcome to Cognithan! Cognithan provides an alternative to hospital care for adults who need rehabilitation in the community. Our model of care is based on our very successful experience in providing residential care services to adults in the community. We provide a highly individualised, recovery based approach to meet each client’s strengths, needs and circumstances. We provide short term residential, supported living and nursing residential care services for people with health care needs who require a high level of support, medication supervision and specialised services. We provide services for individuals who have a variety complex personal and medical support needs, including those with mental health and learning disabilities needs. We take a personal approach to the care and services provided. Our care teams are committed to devoting the time and energy necessary to provide the highest quality of personal care to the clients by enabling independence, preserve dignity, enable freedom of choice and protect their privacy. Our mission is to provide quality social health care in a compassionate and personal manner while encouraging independence.

Cambridge Talking News is a weekly audio newspaper for blind and partially-sighted people living in the local area. The recordings include local news stories, forthcoming events, general information and a wide range of interviews and articles . We also produce CamMag every 7 weeks. This is an audio magazine which includes information for partially sighted people, amusing, unusual and interesting articles and information about local history and local events. The focus is on Cambridgeshire. Recordings are copied onto memory sticks and sent out, post free, to about 120 listeners. Cambridge Talking News is also available electronically. Listeners can play the recordings on their own computer or MP3 player, or we can sometimes loan, free of charge, a Sovereign MP3 player. We are extremely grateful to Cam Sight who permit us to use a room at their offices at 167 Green End Road, Cambridge.
