Founded by Ricky Reemer, ThinHost® Ltd is a privately owned company based in the United Kingdom with offices located in central London and Barnsley. In 2005 ThinHost® pioneered the Hosted Virtual Desktop, or HVD, which is now a faction of the Cloud Computing revolution. HVD computing is presently the only viable method by which most organisations can transition to the Cloud, primarily because it supports the virtualisation of legacy, non-Cloud, software applications (e.g. Microsoft® Office) and is therefore a genuine alternative to on-premise, server-based networks. ThinHost® provides Hosted Virtual Desktop services to a wide range of sectors, focusing primarily within the professional services industries.
