Based in Kansas, The Wyld Foundation is an impact-led institution focused on immersing people in heritage using extended reality (XR) technologies, storytelling, and digital scanning technologies. We’re driven to advocate, educate, and drive for sustainability to combat earth’s continuous loss of natural biodiversity, climate change, and international conflict through the incredible power that understanding, valuing, caring, and enjoyment have to foster empathy, unity, and peace. Digital immersion in cultural and natural heritage has been scientifically proven to bridge the cognitive disconnection that limits how much people care about environmental and social issues The Wyld Foundation’s legacy of immersive storytelling started in 2020 when our founder, Ricardo Dimarco Barea, developed a public service announcement for Intentional Travel that evolved into a documentary series titled Joy of the Journey to advocate for Sustainable Travel & Heritage Preservation to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In 2021, Wyld Stallyns & Co. was formed as a stand-alone production company that created several successful programs including the development of Untold, a global heritage adventure show, in partnership with an Emmy Award Winning Producer. In 2022, WyldXR, a web3 game development agency, was formed to think tank a series of technological solutions that could drive our mission forward for centuries to come. The two initiatives formed were the creation of a sustainable cultural heritage travel platform and digital preservation of tangible heritage through LIDAR and Photogrammetry. Our founder began a slate of self-funded cultural heritage XR experiences with the Village XR in partnership with the Pretty Shield Foundation and XR Labs Miami.
