Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. is a professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S. CFP Board sets standards for financial planning and administers the prestigious CFP® certification - one of the most respected certifications in financial services - so that the public has access to and benefits from competent and ethical financial planning. CFP Board, along with its Center for Financial Planning, is committed to increasing the public's awareness of CFP® certification and access to a diverse, ethical and competent financial planning workforce. Widely recognized by firms as the standard for financial planning, CFP® certification is held by more than 93,000 people in the United States.
The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) is the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals in the US. Members of this association also include those who support the financial planning process. Our members adhere to the highest standards of professional competence, ethical conduct and clear, complete disclosure to those they serve. The WNY chapter has been in existence since January 1, 2006 and is one of 93 chapters of the FPA®. Our chapter has 130 members managing over $9 billion for 13,000 clients.
We generally meet the second Wednesday of the month for lunch at the Reikart House located at 5000 Main Street, Amherst, NY 14226. Our programs typically provide continuing education credits for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, accountants, attorneys and insurance agents.
