The Uhuru Institute for Social Development (TUI) is a social business that provides and connects cooperatives to a variety of services including but not limited to affordable financing, training and institutional development, ICT solutions for business, research, cooperative news, business networking and learning conferences, policy and advocacy, youth leadership and entrepreneurship development with the aim of contributing to inclusive socio-economic transformation. The organisation works with Cooperatives, government MDAs, development partners, and private businesses to advance and apply the cooperative business model in pursuit of inclusive green socio-economic development. TUI’s secretariat is located on plot 1, Katalima Crescent Naguru. For its grassroots reach across the country, TUI works through Liaison Cooperatives that belong to its self-styled Coop360 Network platform. Through some of TUI’s mass market interventions like theCooperator magazine, it can reach a global clientele.
