The Symposium is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a culture of free speech and open inquiry on college campuses through weekly forums and discussions. Our mission is threefold: to provide a genuine safe space for free expression, to cultivate the intellectually diverse environment that is increasingly at risk in contemporary universities, and to give students and faculty a platform to debate challenging and controversial ideas openly. We believe that civil discourse and the free exchange of ideas are essential remedies to the polarization and intolerance dividing today’s campuses. Founded at Syracuse University in 2023, The Symposium continues to expand its commitment to open dialogue and intellectual humility in higher education.
