The Communication Trust is a coalition of over 50 not-for-profit organisations. Working together we support everyone who works with children and young people in England to support their speech, language and communication. Our work focuses on supporting children and young people who struggle to communicate because they have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) as well as supporting all children and young people to communicate to the best of their ability. Working across the UK and internationally Speech Therapy Services London provide evidence based, cost effective and impactful Speech & Language Therapy Services. We believe that every child and young person with Speech, Language & Communication Needs, SLCN, can thrive within their family, schools and communities when given the right support. To achieve this our teams work flexibly with other services to provide direct support to children combined with training and mentoring for the adults who support them. We aim to minimise the impact of children's communication challenges on their well being, achievement, participation and inclusion and set them up for positive futures. Our Speech and Language Therapists care deeply about developing progressive and innovative supports for children and young people with SLCNs. We have been recognised for our award winning integrated services model, the research that we publish and the resources that we develop and share among our wider community. Our strength draws from our range of experiences: we've set up services in partnership with commissioners, worked in independent practice and within the NHS, we do research work, voluntary work and sit on advisory boards. Our Speech & Language Therapists, SLTs, are members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, RCSLT, and are registered with the Health Care Professions Council, HCPC. They work in a range of settings: primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, care homes, residential homes. We are also unique in that we give our SLTs dedicated time to carry out, and share action research to add to the growing evidence base of approaches that contribute to good outcomes for children with SLCN.
