The Source Report Information

The Source Report is a pre-launch media venture building tools to make investigations into global supply chains faster, deeper, and more scalable. Uncovering labor abuses, environmental harms, and other misconduct hidden within supply chains often requires months of manual reporting and data work to piece together fragmented datasets and public records. We’re developing a system that combines investigative reporting, data journalism, AI, and graph database technology to connect those dots more efficiently. Our goal is to transform supply chain accountability from a series of one-off investigations into a repeatable practice, where each investigation builds on the last and expands the foundation for future reporting and impact. Our early-stage work is supported by grants from the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, a joint initiative of Columbia University and Stanford University that supports new ventures at the intersection of media and technology. We’ve also received in-kind support from ImportYeti, Open Supply Hub, OpenCorporates, and Neo4j, and we’re a proud member of the Columbia Startup Lab in Soho, NYC.
