· The Sergeant Sullivan Center is the only private, not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization in the nation exclusively dedicated to confronting and eradicating post-deployment illnesses and identifying, preventing, and treating the toxic wounds of war. The SSC seeks to find the causes, educate the public, and aid the sick. · The SSC was founding in memory of Sergeant Thomas Sullivan, who died from post-deployment illnesses. At the time, he was not aware of the cause of his illnesses, or even the extent of his symptoms. He did not receive proper treatment from providers, and this hastened his death. The SSC seeks to ensure no other veterans suffer his fate. · The SSC’s primary mission is to break the silence surrounding post-deployment illnesses and the toxic wounds of war through funding research, educating the public in addition to healthcare providers, and connecting veterans who suffer.
