The Salem News covers 13 communities on the North Shore Salem, Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, Ipswich, Hamilton, Wenham, Marblehead, Swampscott, Middleton, Topsfield, Boxford and Manchester. They are based in Beverly, at the old Beverly Times building on Dunham Road, by the music theater). They've been around for more than 140 years, and their core mission hasn't changed. They are local journalists. They're here to cover their communities as widely and deeply as possible. They cover fires and blizzards, garden shows and Pinewood Derbies. They are one of the few community newspapers in the state with both a courts reporter and a Statehouse bureau. In their features section, they write about everything from the newest exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum to the annual Beverly Arts Fest.
