In 1986, Harpoon co- founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, VT to keep up with the demand. We are passionate about our company and our beer, and we work each day together to create great beer drinking experiences. This passion has resulted in many changes throughout the years including our most recent announcement in August of 2014 to become an employee owned company. Though many things have changed since the early days of Harpoon, most things have stayed the same. We still love brewing beer and find that we enjoy it more when shared with friends. Harpoon has over 300 employees who understand that making great beer fun can be more challenging – and more rewarding - than it seems. We do things a bit differently here; different from other companies in general and different from most of our fellow brewers. Different in this case does not mean more complex or harder to understand. Because we also believe in being simple and straightforward. We have a very short list of ‘philosophies’ that underline how we run our business: • Treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. • Work like an owner and think like a customer. • Make great beer and revel in it or as we say to the rest of the world: Love Beer. Tavern in the Square is a neighborhood restaurant and bar proudly rooted in New England since 2004. What began as an idea between friends has grown into a beloved local brand with locations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. While we’ve grown, our mission has remained the same: to be local, and always will be. Our concept blends approachable, casual dining with a strong commitment to quality. Every dish is prepared in-house, our menus evolve seasonally, and our extensive draught beer lineup showcases local brewers and regional favorites. We also take great pride in being one of New England’s most allergen-friendly restaurant groups, offering thoughtfully marked menu options and rigorous kitchen protocols to ensure guests with dietary needs feel welcomed, safe, and supported.
