The Ray Highway Information

The Ray is a nonprofit organization that reimagines infrastructure to be safer, cleaner, and more productive. We partner with all levels of government to drive innovation in energy and mobility, improving capacity, production, and longevity. We began as an 18-mile stretch of highway on I-85 in West Georgia, serving as our proving ground for the future of transportation. Advancing technologies with industry leaders, The Ray is the only nonprofit in the U.S. using geospatial analysis for right-of-way (ROW) utilization, research-based practices, and cutting-edge safety systems. We treat the highway ROW as an underutilized asset, repurposing public land to improve the natural connections between transportation and energy use. By integrating new technologies, we help transportation departments leverage this infrastructure to generate innovative revenue. Through our public-private-philanthropic (P4) partnerships, we execute projects at scale and lead collaborations from coast to coast. Working with federal and state agencies, communities, and technology partners, The Ray has built a proven pipeline for advancing resilient projects.
