Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a huge toll on the entire live music industry. We were supposed to play this upcoming weekend, with a bar gig in Springfield and an outdoor show at Johnson County Community College. Unfortunately, those gigs and our usual late fall lineup (Thanksgiving weekend, etc.) have been canceledwhich is a good thing, given the risk. We look forward to the day when it will be safe to share in the communal good feeling of live performance. We miss playing and we miss you. Until then, please be safewear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands. And let the people around you know how much you care about them. Saturday, August 24, the Rainmakers will play a festival in Bonner Springs, Kansas. This is a chance to see us in a family-friendly atmosphere, one that probably slips under the radar for most Kansas City-area music announcements. Come on out! Details can be found on the events Facebook page . We play at 9:30, with two other bands preceding us. This is shaping up to be quite a fun event! On Friday, July 26, at 6 pm there will be a literary discussion between Bob and two of Norways leading authors, Levi Henrikson and Lars Mytting, as they discuss how Bobs lyrics have influenced their writing. At 8:00, Finn Bjelke will host one of his extremely popular (and hilarious) music trivia contests, called Popquiz. And finally, at 10 pm, the band will play an acoustic set. This July 27, the Rainmakers will play our final band gig in Norway at the beautiful Langfjren Arena near Mosvik, Nord-Trondelag.
