Established in December 2018, Princess and Bear Wines is owned by Carol Bailey and Steve Medwell. After 40 years as professionals in Seattle, the couple retired in the Languedoc region of France. There they discovered an abundance of delicious, exciting, thoughtfully made wines at prices unseen in the United States for similar quality wines. Thus, a passion was born, and a plan to champion this special region and bring these truly high-quality, affordable wines to the US. Princess and Bear Wines supports small family farmers in the Languedoc-Roussillon with an emphasis on organically farmed grapes and female winemakers. The wines are hand-picked by Carol and Steve and imported by Princess and Bear Imports. The wines are sold direct to consumers through a Seattle tasting room, website sales, and a national wine club. Princess and Bear Wines is the only wine club in the country focused exclusively on the artisanal wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon.
