The Phi Phi Club Information

The Phi Phi Club continues to create new alumni activities, most recently at our successful Alumni Day barbecue. Coming up we have a trip to a Phillies game planned on Saturday, September 25, at 7 p.m., against the New York Mets. And we hope to once again get Phi Phi alumni together for each Penn football and basketball game. If you are interested in any of these, please give me a call at 215-545-4419. The Phi Phi Club has an incredible website - www.phiphiclub.com - where you will find tons of information including alumni addresses, pictures, Phi Phi Reviews, the latest news, and even a chat room. Through e-mail, alumni have been able to stay in touch with the fraternity and each other on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this past spring brought tragedy to campus, when an intoxicated FIJI alumnus fell to his death from their balcony. This, understandably, has had an enormous impact on Penn, the Greek system, and even our chapter. President Rodin has responded by implementing a more restrictive alcohol policy for the campus, and several other chapters have been sanctioned. Our undergraduate chapter, however, is doing very well, and after discussions with the brothers and officers, I am confident that they understand the importance of leading the fraternity responsibly through these difficult times on campus. However, we alumni must do all that we can to continue to promote a positive environment for our chapter. If you value the experience and friendships that started at Alpha ChiiTho, I encourage you to help see that future generations will have the same opportunities. Your support, participation, and ideas are always welcome and needed if we are to remain strong. We especially extend our sincere thanks to the many alumni who have contributed to our annual giving program during the past academic year. Alpha Chi Rho has continued to prove itself both responsive and resilient in the last century. I'm convinced that our organization is worthy of your support during the coming year. I hope you agree.
