The Nathaniel Witherell is a short-term rehab and skilled nursing center located on 24 beautiful acres, just two miles from downtown Greenwich. We have served the community since 1903. The Witherell is committed to person-centered care provided by a compassionate, highly competent, and experienced staff. We are fortunate to have an extremely low turnover rate - six times lower than Connecticut's nursing home average - which translates into stability and continuity for our residents. We are nonprofit, and are owned and operated by the Town of Greenwich. Witherell is the only nursing home in Connecticut that is municipally owned. When you visit the Witherell, you'll see a beautifully appointed, up-to-date facility. Thanks to Witherell's recent Project Renew renovation, the infrastructure and environment were dramatically improved. Total construction costs were $27 million. The Nathaniel Witherell once again placed in the top 13% of all nursing homes in the United States to be named a "Top Nursing Home" in Connecticut for 2017-18 byU.S. News & World Report. This year, just over 2,000 nursing homes earned the designation of aU.S. News Best Nursing Home. Witherell was among 65 nursing homes out of the 216 evaluated in Connecticut to be included.
