The Murmur Information

The Murmur is a free English-language monthly newspaper written for an internationally minded audience. Based in Copenhagen, the Murmur serves as a source of insightful, alternative journalism about Danish issues as well as international trends and developments that affect Denmark. Our original, long-form articles and commentary serve as a window on the Danish society and provide insight into the country’s culture and role in an increasingly globalised world. The Murmur’s four founding members have over 30 years experience working with media in Denmark and joined together after recognising the need for an in depth and high-quality English-language media source. Murmur readers are a varied group. Many of them – including international students, businesspeople and diplomats – do not speak Danish. Common to them all, however, is the desire to read about Denmark in English. Murmur readers are educated, curious and cosmopolitan and want to remain properly informed about Denmark and its place in the world. The Murmur has a monthly print run of 12,500 copies and is distributed nationwide. Our key distribution points include public libraries, educational institutions, universities, international schools, language schools, selected cafes, bars and restaurants. The Murmur also offers delivery to businesses and in residential areas that have a large international presence. Some of our distribution deals include The Technical University of Denmark (1,500 copies), 20 public libraries in Copenhagen (3,000+ copies) and Carlsberg (100 copies).
