The Memory Maker Project is a cultural access & advocacy program for people living with memory loss & their care partners in New York's Southern Tier. What do we do, exactly? We map out and make connections with all of the rich cultural assets in New York's Southern Tier including museums, zoos, art studios & theaters. We educate staff and volunteers of cultural organizations about best practices and possible barriers that people living with memory loss might face when attending their facilities. Together, we figure out ways to lessen these barriers. We organize and lead events that are inclusive but designed especially for those living with memory loss. We bring art and culture to care communities. We level the playing field so that everyone can enjoy all of the great art and culture our community has to offer-regardless of diagnosis.
