The Lung Association of Nova Scotia Information

Did you know 1 in 5 Nova Scotians struggle with lung disease? A volunteer-driven charitable organization, the Lung Association of Nova Scotia (LANS) improves quality of life by controlling and preventing lung disease through research, advocacy, patient services and education. From our main office in Halifax, we serve Nova Scotians with lung disease through help from our generous donors. We are 100% donor funded and receive no base or on-going support from government. All funds raised by your Lung Association stay in Nova Scotia to serve the people of our community. Where do the funds go? We have developed more supportive programs for children with asthma and adults struggling with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. LANS has also taken a leading role in the fight to eradicate tobacco use in Nova Scotia. Finally, we continue to educate home owners on the presence of radon and the importance of air quality for their families. We not only help to treat lung disease...we are also working towards preventing it. We are striving to be leaders in lung health, as well as leaders in prevention. Let’s breathe better together!
