The Kneeland Project was founded in 1998, in tribute to an extraordinary woman, Carole Kent Kneeland, whose courage, passion and sense of fairness far surpassed her time on earth. Her friends, family and colleagues believed in what she stood for, and vowed to carry on her legacy through The Kneeland Project. Our mission is "to assure ethics and excellence in local journalism."
