The Hungry Guest opened its doors in November 2011. The brand, which includes a wholesale artisan bakery & production kitchen, a one stop shop which boasts its own butchery corner & cheese room, a café & a catering service has been created to offer quality food products in Sussex market towns. Master baker Troels Bendix has acquired extensive background knowledge in the baking world having founded Breads Etcetera & later managed the Celtic Bakers. In creating The Hungry Guest Shop, Bendix brings his pick of the available produce, while catering to the customer’s every day needs. Basic store cupboard staples such as pulses, flour, sugar, condiments & wonderful fresh sour dough loaves sit alongside more speciality products from producers such as Laverstoke Farm, Mons Fromagent & many more. The Hungry Guest Café is only a 2 minute stroll from the shop and serves as an ideal spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea & dinner. Dishes are freshly prepared onsite & all cakes, pastries & breads are handmade daily at the bakery. The café has been voted one of the 30 Best Places for Brunch in Britain by The Times. The Hungry Guest Artisan Bakery prepares on a daily basis over 30 varieties of its own signature artisan breads, delicious pastries & cakes. The bakery currently supplies to over 70 external outlets including shops, restaurants & hotels in Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire & it a firm presence in farmers markets across the region.
