At The Holmesdale School, our mission is to transform our students' lives through exceptional teaching and to provide them with the necessary set of skills and knowledge for a successful future. We offer a diverse and well-rounded curriculum to post-16 students, ultimately designed to lead individuals on to university or full time employment with training such as an apprenticeship. Our sixth form is now well established, but still on an exciting journey. It has doubled in size over the past year and is currently the biggest it has ever been due to new facilities, exciting opportunities and an innovative curriculum. Our results continue to improve and this year there was a 98% success rate. Over 80% of students achieved 3 or more A-Levels and 85% secured their first choice at university. Our Year 11 students are given an ever wider choice of traditional A-Levels and high quality, rigorous vocational subjects. We have excellent facilities for our sixth form students, from our brand new sixth form area to the sixth form Photography Studio and Media Suite. Whether you are moving up from Year 11 or joining us from another school, as many do, our friendly and popular sixth form will offer you a wonderful experience! Our students are a close community and are exceptional role models for the rest of the school. We recognise that our students are young adults. We also acknowledge, however, that the transition between GCSE and post-16 courses can be challenging and therefore we offer a focused and detailed induction programme and mentoring. Our sixth form students are also provided with a strong Enrichment Programme, with amazing opportunities and challenges. We also have a career guidance adviser who works closely with our sixth form students, offering one to one sessions. All our sixth form students are strongly supported and encouraged throughout their time with us. We ensure they leave our school with a definite destination and are fully equipped for the challenges ahead of them.
