Mission Statement The Historical Society of Rockland County acquires, preserves and exhibits objects, buildings and sites which reflect primarily the history of Rockland County and the Lower Hudson Valley, and researches, documents, promotes, and publicizes the rich historical heritage of the county for the people of Rockland. To fulfill its mission, the Society shall: Acquire, preserve, document, and exhibit an historic object and archival collection that reflects the diverse societal fabric of Rockland. Sponsor programs and publications that are based on sounds scholarship, and which encourage the appreciation of history and the cultural heritage of the people of Rockland. Promote through programs, services, and example the preservation, restoration, continuing and adaptive use of the County's historic buildings and sites. Develop and maintain the financial, processional, and human resources necessary to achieve the purposed and goals of organization.
