The journey that led me to become a Financial Coach began when, after 17 years of marriage and two children, I found myself divorced with no idea where to turn or what to do next. All I knew was that my (household) income had been cut in half, and I had a BIG chunk of debt hanging over me, plus all the regular bills that went with running a household, and two children to raise. It was the scariest time in my life, but through a friend’s recommendation, I found resources that helped me develop a plan and work my way out of that debt in a little less than three years, build up an emergency fund, and save for my kids’ college. Because of this experience, my primary focus as a Financial Coach is on single and divorced women (and women in relationships who handle their finances independently from their spouse or partner). I understand the unique concerns and challenges women face as we walk through the various stages of our lives. I help women identify their personal financial values, priorities, and goals, teach them sound money management principles, and help them develop a step-by-step plan of action so they can feel confident they are doing the right things - in the right order - to win with money. The information I teach is not a secret – there are multitudes of resources available that allow anyone to educate themselves, create a plan, and work their way toward financial freedom without spending a dime. This is a perfectly fine thing to do! But if you have tried this approach before and not made progress, or felt unsure if you were doing the “right” things, if you had questions along the way but no one to ask, then a Financial Coach might be the missing piece of the puzzle. As your Financial Coach, I serve as an educator, accountability partner, and cheerleader to help you gain clarity and confidence around your money, and reach your goals faster than you may think possible.
