A global business-led initiative Advancing respect for human rights through peer learning and by strengthening business practice ____________________________________________________ GBI is a unique business-led organisation committed to strengthening corporate respect for human rights. We do this by sharing leading practice, examining challenges and potential solutions, and ensuring our members have greater insight into emerging trends and issues. GBI is made up of a committed group of respected multinational corporations with operations in diverse industries and regions. GBI members are working to embed respect for human rights in their business and operations. We are a community of business practitioners from diverse business functions who are responsible for leading member companies' human rights journeys. We convene multiple times a year, in-person and remotely, and regularly engage with other business, governments and civil society so that members and the GBI team can add value to ongoing efforts to address governance gaps and build the case for business to respect human rights. Our work to inform good practice, inspire corporate commitment and build capability to advance the human rights agenda in a business context is in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and other relevant international standards. As major multinationals, GBI’s members are well-placed to drive positive standards, policy and practice within their industries. Individually and collectively, they can positively impact the day-to-day realities of hundreds of millions of people and contribute to sustainable development in thousands of communities and to economies around the world.
