The Gateway is the official student newspaper at the University of Alberta. It is published most Tuesdays and Thursdays during the academic year (with four issues during the spring/summer term) by the Gateway Student Journalism Society (GSJS), a student-run, autonomous, apolitical not-for-profit organization, operated in accordance with the Societies Act of Alberta. The Gateway's primary objectives are: To sponsor advancement of education of University of Alberta students through the various practices of journalism and the publication of the Gateway. To provide a fair, reliable, and clear source of information, focused mainly, but not exclusively, on issues which directly affect students, whether they are local, national, or international.
