The Gaiety Theatre is a social enterprise run entirely for the benefit of the local community, with an overall vision to grow the performing arts and culture in Ayr and South Ayrshire to benefit all residents. Unlike most theatres in the UK The Gaiety's largely run through voluntary effort supported by a small core staff team. In September 2014, The Gaiety Theatre became Scotland's first Learning Theatre in partnership with Univeristy of the West of Scotland (UWS) The BA Technical Theatre, the only one of its kind in the country, offers thorough vocational training for those looking to work in stage management and theatre production.
