The FruitGuys Community Fund- Information

We supports farms, farmers and policies that allow for greater environmental, economic and community health, by providing small grants (up to $5,000) for projects that have big impacts. We believe that small independent American farms are catalysts for environmental and economic self sufficiency, sustainability and food access. Independent farmers can lead their communities as models of self-reliance and land stewardship. It is our vision that “from a small seed the world can be sustained” and this underlies a core belief that those projects that ripple out beyond the farm are valuable not just for the farmer but for the world at large. Our fund was established in 2012 as a non-profit, fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives, after 5 years of grants made through The FruitGuys' Farm Steward program. The Fund’s primary goals are to help farms, orchards and agricultural nonprofits operate more sustainably, create a healthier environment, and develop stronger local economies and food systems.
