The Exploratory trains and engages over 70 teachers in 16 schools in 4 districts in Ghana, to inspire more than 600 girls and boys from primary 4 to junior secondary school (grade 9) through science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Teachers are trained in hands-on science, gender sensitive pedagogy through annual workshops. Students participate in weekly after school science and coding clubs, explore careers with STEM professionals, and learn to become problem solvers through our annual #SolveforGhana design challenge. Our mission is to empower educators and inspire students to be curious, courageous and community-minded, by making STEM relevant, joyful, collaborative and equitable.
