We are owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years. We pride ourselves in food and service. In 1973, The Woodman family began a new chapter in its long history by building Woodman's Function Hall. In 1997, after essential updating, the Hall was renamed The Essex Room. For over four decades, the Essex Room at Woodman's of Essex has offered a quintessential New England location with exquisite views of the salt marsh and Essex River regardless of the season. We have a luxurious Bridal Room, expansive grounds for an outdoor ceremony and/or outdoor cocktails, and a beautiful seasonal garden, the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. Our iconic "Steamship Lounge" is reminiscent of the early days of travel. The Essex Room is considered one of the top MA wedding venues for Cape Ann weddings, functions, and more. Every client receives unparalleled level of service and attention to detail from every member of our team. The Essex Room's versatility and willingness to make an event everything you envisioned it would be and can be as luxurious or as casual as you want. The Essex Room can seat 250 comfortably and boasts a large dance floor. We are family owned and operated, and there's always plenty of free parking. Essex is conveniently located 30 minutes north of Boston.
