Welcome to the Environment Centre (tEC). We're an independent charity working with Local Authorities and other funding partners to deliver specialist advice services relating to home energy and the environment. We’re currently delivering Southampton Healthy Homes on behalf of Southampton City Council, Hitting the Cold Spots on behalf of Hampshire County Council and the phone advice line for Portsmouth City Council’s Switched On Portsmouth service. We’re working with residents across these regions to make their homes more energy efficient and improve their quality of life at home. From light-touch energy-saving advice, resolving complex scenarios with energy suppliers and helping people access priority energy services, right through to applying for funding for air source heat pumps and solar panels, our team of energy advisers make sure our clients receive the most appropriate and impactful guidance for their unique situation. Our wider commitment to the environment means we’re well placed to deliver additional sustainability campaigns. On behalf of Southampton City Council, Eastleigh Borough Council, New Forest District Council and Winchester City Council, we’re helping residents to understand the impact that burning wood has on the environment and human health. Rooted in public engagement, this project has generated numerous conversations and helped to unpick some of the common myths associated with this topic. Our fifth project is a joint venture with Southampton City Council and Global Action Plan to engage with healthcare professionals across the city, again in relation to air quality. We’ve recruited more than 45 volunteer Clean Air Champions who are having conversations about air quality directly with their patients. We're pleased to be facilitating training, networking and webinars for this audience.
