Welcome to the Environment Centre (tEC). We're an independent charity with a mission to reduce domestic carbon emissions while helping residents live more comfortably at home. We provide residents across Southampton, Hampshire and Portsmouth with an impartial and bespoke home energy advice service. Our flexible approach means we could be applying for a grant on behalf of a vulnerable resident one day, and helping a self-funding homeowner explore new heating technologies the next. We’re currently delivering Southampton Healthy Homes on behalf of Southampton City Council, Hitting the Cold Spots on behalf of Hampshire County Council, and the phone advice line for Portsmouth City Council’s Switched On Portsmouth service. These services offer in-depth, one-to-one help for residents who may be finding it hard to maintain a suitably warm home or keep up with energy bills. In April 2025 we launched My Home Made Better, an advice service for homeowners outside of these audiences, to help inspire and motivate even more people to upgrade and futureproof their home energy. Whatever the personal circumstances of our callers, we’re here to help as many people as possible benefit from an energy efficient home, in the most cost-effective, healthy way they can. We welcome opportunities to work with new partners. If you're interested in finding out how we can help you deliver your organisation's objectives, please get in touch today.
