The Dando Project is a community-driven initiative focused on improving access to food through simple, scalable, and dignified solutions. We design and install Dando Boxes—public, 24/7 food pantry boxes built on a “take what you need, leave what you can” model. By placing these boxes in accessible, high-traffic locations, we help remove barriers around food insecurity while empowering communities to support one another directly. Our approach prioritizes: Accessibility – no sign-ups, no questions asked Sustainability – locally supported and community maintained Dignity – help without stigma The Dando Project works with local partners, volunteers, and organizations to expand food access while keeping operations simple, transparent, and impact-focused. As we grow, our mission remains the same: make it easier for people to give, and easier for people to get the support they need—when they need it.
